BELMONDOS
TANZKAPELLE
Belmondos Tanzkappelle has dedicated itself entirely to the swing of the 30s and 40s, inspired by the danceability of the big band sound and the playful fusion of art and entertainment. The quintet takes up the pulse of the dance music with pleasure and keeps it even when it interprets various songs from the following decades. Michael Leherbauer, himself a Lindy Hop dancer, works with the band on arrangements that give the sound the necessary energy to unleash the fun and creativity of the dancers. With charm and prankster the singer leads with the unmistakable timbre in the voice through the repertoire, carried by the rock solid band, which follows the principle of light-footedness with thrust and springy groove: it must schwing!

The dancers can expect original arrangements and perfect style copies – the great classics of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Jimmie Lunceford, Louis Jordan, Louis Prima and many more.
And certainly, the most beautiful songs of the “golden era of songwriting” as well as the great performers won’t be missing: Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Nat Cole, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong …
Presented in stylish outfits and authentic sound!
Maurice Kühn (vocals & double bass) is a veteran of 15plus years in various swing bands. He has performed hundreds of concerts for dancers all over Germany and Europe. His voice captures the essence of the great performers such as Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra or Nat Cole – and yet sounds very distinctive. Maurice Kühn takes the audience back to a time when sound and feeling were more important than “fuss” (pre-TV!).
Peter Klohmann (saxophone & clarinet) not only impresses with sensational stage presence – his saxophone playing is second to none! With a distinctive timbre, you melt away when he plays the saxophone. No doodling or crazy technical escapades but melody and swing!
Harry Butts (piano) plays with full commitment! He delivers it all: sparkling jazz runs, basie-esque accents or rolling Boogie-Woogie inserts – whether as a soulful companion or virtuoso soloist.
Max Jentzen (drums) plays the swing as it should be – danceable! Lightly and lively, with inimitable bounce and fire.
On board for “Swing United” 2020 is the wonderful singer Jana Schrietter. With her great voice and an inimitable good mood she will sway the dancers to Lindy Hop Heaven…. Jana Schrietter and Maurice Kühn will bring to life some of the most beautiful duets in film and swing history – Ginger & Fred, Ella & Louis, Bert & Mary, Jasmin & Aladdin …
